A few years before the CES show, the serial electric car Afeela 1 was presented in Las Vegas. The first Sony car will hit the market in 2026. Its details were revealed on the website of the Japanese winemaker.
Apparently, Afeela 1 is a full-scale development of Sony and Honda (they were created by Sony Honda Mobility). In 2026, the Signature version will start selling for $102,900, and the Origin version will start selling for $89,900.
The serial electric car Sony-Honda Afeela 1 has not changed much from the minor concept. This is a streamlined E-Class sedan with an arched tail, a high window line and narrow optics. The sizes are similar to Tesla Model S and Xiaomi SU7.
Dimensions of Sony-Honda Afeela 1:
Dovzhina – 4915 mm;
width – 1900 mm;
height – 1460 mm;
wheelbase – 3000 mm.
A ceramic steering wheel was installed in the Afeela 1 cabin, and the display was extended across the entire width of the front panel. Surrounding the monitor is the rear passengers.
For Sony Afeela 1, they developed a virtual assistant with artificial intelligence and an innovative autopilot with 18 cameras, a lidar and 20 different sensors. For an additional fee, cameras can replace rear-view mirrors, and you can also purchase a custom Sony PlayStation game console (you can play games without having to park your car).
The Sony-Honda Afeela 1 electric car has a 489-horsepower unit with two motors and all-wheel drive. The 91 kW-year battery has a range of over 480 km, and the car also supports charging at a rate of 150 kW.
