For the first time in five years, the top two players in the ATP rankings have claimed titles in the same week.
This week, World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz and World No. 2 Jannik Sinner both lifted trophies on the ATP Tour, replicating a rare feat last achieved in 2020.

On Tuesday, September 30, Alcaraz triumphed at the Japan Open, defeating American Taylor Fritz 6–4, 6–4 in the final.

On Wednesday, October 1, Sinner secured the China Open title, beating American Learner Tien 6–2, 6–2.
The last time the world’s top two players achieved this milestone was in 2020, when Novak Djokovic won the Dubai Championships (defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas 6–3, 6–4) and Rafael Nadal claimed the Mexican Open title, beating Taylor Fritz 6–3, 6–2.
